Although many believe the best ships are the one’s that have been built, Glenn is a firm believer that “the best ships are relationships.”
Glenn is an active member of the marine technical community and has served as a SNAME volunteer in many roles and responsibilities, including:
- Co-Chair MARITECH 2019 and Technical Program
- Global Membership Committee Chair, 2018-present
- Regional Vice President (Central and Gulf Region), 2012-2017
- Eastern Canadian Section Chair, 2006-2012
- Co-Chair Ottawa Marine Technical Symposium 2013
- Co-Chair MARITECH 2012, Ottawa
With over 35 years in the marine sector, Glenn has had the pleasure of interesting and challenging projects where leadership through effective program management coupled with sound technical judgement was required.
Glenn served 20 years in the Royal Canadian Navy in surface ships and then as the Marine Systems Engineering Head of Department in HMCS ONONDAGA (Canadian Oberon Class submarine) coupled with time in the engineering headquarters, both on exchange in the UK and in Ottawa. Glenn has over 10 years in industry supporting the Victoria Class Submarines, including the roll out of the Victoria In-Service Support Contract (VISSC). Presently, Glenn is an independent consultant in the role of “Friend of the Government.”
Glenn lives in Ottawa and is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada (BEng, 1987) and University College London (MSc in Marine Engineering and Submarine Design Course (1996)).
